Definox in the spotlight in Pépites magazine

In its latest issue, Pépites magazine dedicates several pages to Definox through a photo report and an article that highlight the women and men who bring Definox to life every day, as well as the expertise expressed behind each achievement.

Created with the desire to “sow enthusiasm,” Pépites aims to tell the stories of companies that shape the region and whose successes often remain unknown to the general public.

“In the South-Loire area, there are companies with exceptional know‑how, sometimes recognized far beyond our borders: Definox is a good example,” explains Denis Audureau, the magazine’s publishing director.

The meeting with the Definox teams happened naturally, driven by a shared desire to showcase skills and professions.

Three days immersed at the heart of Definox

To produce this report, Clisson-based photographer Pauline Théon quickly emerged as an obvious choice, both for her artistic sensitivity and her personal perspective on the industrial world. She spent three days within the company.

“I wanted to put people first. One day isn’t enough to understand a company. You need time to meet people, build trust, and understand what drives them,” she explains.

For Magalie Chouin-Theriot, Definox’s Managing Director, this immersion was essential: “We wanted someone who would reveal us, who would surprise us. Not someone who would simply reproduce what we were already used to showing.”

As the days went by, Pauline’s lens naturally turned toward those who make Definox what it is every day: technical gestures, the precision of the craft, but also exchanges and shared glances.

A different perspective on our professions

Coming herself from a working-class background, with a father who was a stainless-steel welder, Pauline pays particular attention to industrial trades.

“These are professions whose richness we don’t always perceive. Yet there is so much beauty in the gestures, in the technical mastery, and in the dedication of the people who practice them.”

In three days, she took more than 3,000 photos, taking the time to build genuine connections with the teams. “There was real mutual pleasure,” Magalie notes. “She invested herself with incredible generosity, and you can feel it in her work.”

Revealing what we no longer see

Among the images that particularly struck Magalie was one of a simple industrial washing machine, in which Pauline noticed a small character, almost a face.

“We walked past it every day without really seeing it anymore. She found a wink, a story. That’s exactly what we were looking for: someone capable of revealing our everyday life in a different way.”

Through the words and images of Pépites, it is above all the employees, their professions, and their commitment that are celebrated. An external perspective that reminds us that behind every Definox achievement lie stories, gestures, and passions that deserve to be told.
